    Description

Up for sale is my garage-kept 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. I bought this in 2018 from the original owner. It has never been rusted, never been in an accident and wears all it's original body panels. Even when new it was a secondary car only driven in nice weather on nice days. She is a major head-turner that deserves to be enjoyed! I have too many cars in my collection and am downsizing a few so others can enjoy them more than I can with my busy work
    schedule
Here are 3 videos of the car running and driving. They deserve to be seen on a computer or tablet, not your phone:

CLEAR TITLE! Major receipts from 2001 - present. Engine/trans/suspension etc.
    ENGINE/TRANSMISSION:
Numbers-matching, rebuilt and worked, original Oldsmobile 403 6.6L V8. Engine pulled and sent to previous owners hot rod shop’s machinist, and then rebuilt at the hot rod shop. In addition to this a flat tappet cam was added (runs on Brad Penn 20w/50 race oil), metal timing chain, long tube headers and a high-torque mini starter. This was done in 2011 and car has been driven under 1000 miles since. It runs fantastic with great power, no flat spots and plenty of grunt, much more than they were stock!.
Full receipt details of engine block work: Engine rebuild, larger cam, hone, bore, deck, engine cleaned in hot tank, rings, bearings, balance, timing chain, pushrods, reassemble motor, etc., full engine gasket kit - pistons... over k in receipts just on this.
Long tube headers to Flowmaster exhaust. Nice beefy idle that doesn't sound too super erratic. Runs great on premium pump gas. Exhaust does not drone on the freeway.
Replaced the Rochester Quadrajet 4 barrel with an Edelbrock 650 cfm 4 barrel for increased air flow and performance. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere, anytime. it is very safe and reliable.
Original and serviced 3 speed automatic transmission, B&M Ratchet shifter and shift kit installed.
Very solid and fun to drive!
4 Wheel Disc Brakes. Car stops on a dime like a much newer car. It also handles very well and much more solid than one with t-tops that flex, not to mention, leak!!
    EXTERIOR/INTERIOR:
This car was professionally prepped, painted, and decals back in 2002/2003 and it still looks great! OEM Midnight blue with extra metallic flake added. Body is exceptionally straight and needed no rust or accident repair. This was a garage stored car since new and not driven in bad weather. All body panels are solid and original to the car. Car looks very nice.
Factory A/C and power windows! A/C is ice cold! They replaced the window motors about 10 years ago, and they work well. They also replaced the headliner and it looks great. Trunk and door weather stripping, and window stripping was replaced back then, and some extra included. They also replaced master cylinder/brake booster/brake lines back in 2003 as well. There is no wind noise or water entry when I wash the car and there are no leaks or drips from any component. It is a very well sorted car.
The original 15x7 snowflakes are on the car, and were refinished and powder-coated back in 2003. Center caps aren't perfect, and one wheel has some staining that may or may not fully clean up.
The original gauge cluster was swapped out by the previous owner (as original only went up to 85MPH) for an earlier 70s Trans Am gauge cluster (and he gave me the original, which I will also include). Looks perfect with currently installed cluster!
The car never had the original radio when i got it, so for around 00 in parts and labor, they had a sound system installed. Pioneer cd player, JBL 6x9s in the back, and a Cerwin Vega Dual Voice coil 12” sub and box in the trunk. This thing hits nicely and sounds great. 2 amps mounted in the trunk (out of the way against back seat) to power sub and speakers.
When it was they installed a new rear deck shelf, so all the speakers are hidden.
Sound system company also installed an alarm, by Code Alarm.
Crack in the dash pad, as with every Trans Am ever. Carpet is original, and I am including a new carpet that I never installed. Also included are 2 sets of floor mats that are really nice ones with Trans Am emblems that match new carpet, and also the mats that came with the car when I bought it (not sure if original or not). Upholstery is original and shows typical wear, but replacement fabric or leather is readily available.
I bought houndstooth trunk lining that is included, including matching pouch, tire cover. All from Classic Industries and NPD. Original (or original style) spare tire included!
    Recent 2022:
Replaced all new shocks and new alternator.
    THINGS TO NOTE:
Cold starts take some of the usual carburetor gas pedal pumping. 2 pumps and it fires to life. After this, engine starts are effortless. Car runs super strong and solid!
The hot rod shop swapped out the temp. gauge with a period correct, OEM gauge, but temp. gauge and interior blinker indica
tors not currently working. Blinkers are still functional. Alpine front speakers are not connected. Small tear in rubber on driver’s side window stripping.
Flaws in finish photographed and include: back bumper spot, small spot on shaker/hood, drivers side door, the standard front spoiler/lip since the car is so low. Paint is not perfect, but looks great! I'd say a solid 8 out of 10. Photos taken on a partly cloudy day a few days after waxing car.
They have already replaced and upgraded several major projects. Around ,000 was put into this car over the years. I have been very thorough and detailed with everything that I could think of. I don’t like there to be any surprises. I will also include major receipts that I still have. You wont find a nicer Trans Am for the price.
Please examine photos videos and ask any questions before bidding. This Trans Am is being sold AS IS with no returns. Deposit required within 24 hours, and full payment within 3 days via cashier's check or wire. Car runs and drives excellent and will assist in any transporting as best I can. I have a shipping company I have used for many years that is reasonable and safe and can arrange shipping at your expense anywhere in the lower 48 states.
This car is amazing. Such a fine example of a 1979 Trans Am, and they are only going to continue to appreciate in value. It’s a great driver, and needs a new owner that will love and enjoy it more than I have time to.
