Description
This is a very rare item. This is an actual journal book imprinted House of Commons and with the Canadian Arms. There is probably one of these per year. It was used in the House of Commons in the Canadian Parliament as journal or daybook. At the end of the month, they cut out the used pages, which are official government documents now, and filed with Hansard. That is about 6 pages per signature of the bound volume, leaving about 80 blank sheets - 160 pages. So a lot of very usable space here in this large 14 x 12 inch leatherette volume. I gather that after the use, staff members have the chance to buy it. Each sewn signature of pages has the first few neatly cut out, with a half inch left in each one, so the book stays stable and nothing is going to fall apart. This would be great for scrapbooking, a very classy photo album from a Canadian vacation, or just kept as a collectible piece of political memorabilia. About 80 pages/160 sides.
