Description
Janis Ian is preparing for a last North American Tour (see her website for information)! After moving and downsizing, most of her memorabilia has gone to the Janis Ian Archives. She's also picked a few items to sell in order to benefit the Pearl Foundation. This is one of those items.Janis says:
"Now that you can't buy basic cold medicine for love or money without a prescription, these Coricidin pill bottles are even rarer than then. I grew up thinking one of the coolest things on earth would be to play slide guitar, and I've owned a variety of slides - from bottle necks (made from bottle necks, really, and if you think I haven't injured myself trying to get the neck off a soda bottle in my past...), to steel tubing (do not try this by taking parts out of your parents' kitchen sink or bathroom appliances). The old fashioned glass Coridin pill bottle just happened to be the perfect size
to slip on a finger and slide up and down the strings. This is a modern day replica of the that unobtainable medicine bottle, specifically made as a guitar slide. Unfortunately, one of the things I learned in trying to play slide guitar was that I would never be any good at playing slide guitar. So here's one of my slides, signed, sealed (well, sort of sealed) and delivered!"
Like all other items listed from this account, 100% of the proceeds after eBay fees will go to the Pearl Foundation*. This is an opportunity for you to get a glass guitar slide and support good works at the same time.
The winner needs to pay for this item within two days of the close of the auction. It will be shipped within two business days of receiving verification of payment.
Thanks for looking and thanks for your support of Janis and The Pearl Foundation.

The Pearl Foundation (named after Janis Ian's mother, Pearl) is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) public charitable foundation providing scholarships for "returning students". It's
funded solely through donations from fans, friends, complete strangers, and Janis Ian and Patricia Snyder. We don't have board meetings in The Bahamas or pay any salaries; everything but the actual tax preparation and filing fees is donated. Our annual costs have never exceeded ,500 (the cost of tax preparation and filing), and so far we have given away over ,235,500.00
in endowed scholarships.
