    Description

The Accolade (also known as dubbing or adoubement) was the rite of passage ceremony in medieval times which conferred knighthood. This honor was placed onto the recipient by lightly dubbing him (or her, in rare cases, considering the times) with a sword.
    ~About them~
Barbie and Ken have been transformed into this enchanting couple from the medieval times: Barbie is wearing a tone-on-tone ivory brocade dress that has billowing sleeves over ivory satin undersleeves with golden edges. The skirt of her dress is an overlaying of the same brocade with an underskirt of the ivory satin, also edged in gold. Her waist and upper arms are wrapped in golden filigree-like bands. Her make-over includes my realistic lashes over deep blue eyes, all under sculpted brows. Her golden hair has been given waves and cascades down her back, held off her face by a golden crown with amber faux gems. Around her neck is a golden chain with a diamond-shaped pendant with a faux crystal gem in the center. On her right hand is a golden ring with a matching crystal gem. On her feet are simple slippers made out of the same brocade fabric as her dress. In her left arm she is holding the (removable) sword sheath. In her right hand, she anoints her knight with a silver and gold (removable) sword that is adorned with red faux gems.//Ken is wearing a outfit to resemble chain mail from head to toe. Over his outfit he wears a silky red tunic that is edged in black that has a black eagle on the front and back. Around his waist is an antiqued silver-toned raised pyramid belt. His make-over includes deeper blue eyes and a "less modern" haircut. He is kneeling on a (removable) pillow of muted teal suede-like fabric with olive green tassels and stitching.//They are both displayed on a two-piece wooden base that has been given a stone-like finish to resemble the castle floor. She is on one of my doll display stands - the whole thing is painted, and it has felt on the bottom, and the stand rests on the larger, bevelled oval which he is kneeling on. The larger oval also has felt on the bottom to protect surfaces. {Please know that I am a better OOAK doll maker than photographer and they look much better in person - especially the detail work.} A great addition to your medieval collection or as a gift!
    "Fine Print"
I am not affiliated with Mattel. I transform "rescued/used" Barbies (Kens, etc.) into my own one-of-a-kind (OOAK) creations. The dolls are "used," but I make them into new creations, which is why they are given the "new" label selection. This doll comes to you as shown-items on doll are not removable (except where noted),but doll remains fully posable. Made in a non-smoking home. The doll is shipped in a gift box with tissue and a display certificate. (Background image and stand are NOT included, however a choice of stands is available to the winning bidder on a Buy It Now basis-please email me for details.)
