Description
Up for purchase is the following Vintage Men's German Trachten Brown Leather Oktoberfest Lederhosen. This piece is older than most out there, but that's what gives it amazing character. It's made to cover the knees, and it has one identifying feature (perhaps a makers mark) that I could find: a 'D' stitch design on the rear, though I couldn't say more than that. And that's it, with no visible tags or stamps! With that said, here's afeatures
list:
6 black buttons with leather loops | 2 of those buttons connect the front flap | 4 of those buttons are suspender connection points
2 sewn-on buttons | 1 multi-colored button found on the front crotch |
1 smaller black button on the back pocket
4 pockets in total | 2 front pockets, 1 side (knife) pocket, 1 rear pocket
2 adjustable pant leg opening buckles, 1 for each leg
1 leather tie back located on the rear-center for a small waist adjustment
Green stitch detailing on both the front flap and each side down the length
As for the sizing, I've detailed every
measurement
below, approximately. Remember that lederhosen should be a little bigger than your normal size, so if you're normally a 36" waist, this might be ideal.
Length: 29" / 73 cm (the rear sits higher than the front)
Waist: 38" / 96.5 cm (slight adjustment possible)
Hip: 45" / 114 cm
Inseam: 17" / 43 cm
Thigh: 12" / 30.5 cm
Pant leg opening (at its widest): 8" / 20 cm
Leather thickness: 2mm
Weight: 2 lbs 12.5 ounces / 1.26 kg
And now for the
wear
details:
Green stitching is partially present, but most present on the flap, which is nice
Leather exterior shows some color variation, light spotting and rubbing, giving it amazing character that even the nicest new products that feature leather that 'looks' aged can't match in my opinion
Leather interior banding is worn and chipped around the hips, front flap, and pant leg openings, with the front flap showing the most obvious wear as it would see the most use
Beyond the banding, the rest of the leather found inside is nice and soft
Front pocket interiors are worn from use but pretty functional as-is, with existing leather patch repair work covering holes
Back pocket and knife pockets look never used, made out of fabrics which are perfectly intact
Metal pant leg buckles are tarnished, and the leather buckle straps show wear but are still functional
If you've made it this far, I want to thank you for reading, and if you have additional questions, please ask! Finally, expect a quick shipping turnaround upon receipt of your payment. I just hope these find a great new home!
