The Xezo Freelancer series of writing instruments are produced in a limited edition, with each pen individually numbered.  The exquisite Venetian blue color of the pens was inspired by a Venetian glass sculpture on the Murano islands in Italy. This hue is a result of a multiple-layer high-gloss lacquering technique. After each layer of the lacquer is applied, the barrels of the pen are heat-dried and then manually polished to achieve a highly reflective surface with a metallic effect. For durability, the finished surface of each pen is also coated with multiple layers of translucent lacquer. The end result of these processes is a luxurious finish with a multitude of depths and hues, which change slightly depending on the lighting.  The weight balanced body of the pen is designed for superior comfort and grip due to the tapered bulbous shape of the barrel. The barrel and cap are adorned with a diamond-cut guilloche pattern, which is applied with great precision to the surface of each pen.  Each pen is made of solid brass with chrome-plated solid brass fittings.  Every pen has a screw-on cap that secures on the pen barrel in the capped position. To post the cap on the barrel's end, one must press down on the top of cap.
